Travel Seattle: REI Flagship Store

REI is an adventure, outdoor co-operative store in the United States.  The closest store to the border is in Bellingham, Washington.  However if you want to see the largest store with the largest selection of products, then you want to go to the flagship store in Seattle, Washington.  It's worth the trip.

Canadians are welcome to join and be members of REI for $20 with a lifetime membership.  We did and the benefit was a $75 dividend cheque in the mail.  That was only after two shopping trips to REI last year.

Autumn is a great time of year to see the leaves changing colours and Seattle is no exception.  It's an amazing store that brings nature to the store's front door.

There are three floors of gear for all types of snow sports, camping, biking, and adventure enthusiasts.  We also discovered that there is a used 'gear shop' for members only by the rentals area.  Another benefit of REI is that it has a lifetime guarantee for its products, so if you try something out but don't like it, you can return it.  That is where other members can take advantage by buying used 'gear' at a discount for final sale.  That's how we found a light 2 person mountaineering tent for $40.
