Vancouver Cafe: Thierry Chocolaterie Patisserie Cafe

One sunny afternoon, I called a friend who lives downtown to walk around the seawall.  She then suggested a lovely French pastry cafe that had recently opened.  I loved the idea!  Off I went to Thierry Cafe at 1059 Alberni Street (between Burrard and Thurlow) right beside Burrard Skytrain Station.
I was impressed with the modern clean look.  Inside through the clear display cases you can see the homemade chocolates, pastries, cakes, tarts, and French Macarons.  I noticed a trend of customers buying these lovely 7 pack boxes of macarons so I decided to try one at the cafe.  I took one bite of the blackberry French macaron and I fell in love!  It was the most amazing combination of tastes - lightly sweet, hard and soft cookie in one, whipped filling, and then it surprises you with a fresh blackberry inside the macaron.   Who knew a little French macaron could tantalize my taste buds and inspire me.  I discovered that they continue to make fresh macarons in all flavours throughout the day.  I became one of those customers who left with a 7 pack box.   The flavours that I saw that day were blackberry, lemon, coffee, raspberry, and apricot pistachio.
There are a lot of coffee shops downtown but this cafe has style.  I can see people going there for a coffee and pastry, and returning in the evening for their spiked espresso or hot chocolate drinks.  It was too early for me but others were enjoying a glass of sparkling wine on a Sunday afternoon.  As for me, I enjoyed the Blackberry French Macaron affordable luxury!
