When we run out of milk at home, then we head out for breakfast at IHOP at 5137 Kingsway which is the closest breakfast joint in our neighbourhood. It's a reasonable choice with reasonable prices. I joined the IHOP Pancake Revolution to get a free meal a month ago and didn't get the free meal because it expired before I could go back to use it. (Note: If you do sign up for this, choose your IHOP carefully, all of the coupons that follow will be for that location only). This month I received a buy one get one free coupon from IHOP to use during the month of August. I was lucky because our milk ran out in time for me to use the coupon this time.
I splurged and decided to try their new Splashberry drink. It consisted of strawberry smash at the bottom with orange juice and fizzy lemon lime soda. I thought of it like a virgin mimosa. It was quite tasty. My personal preference is not to mix it up. There are free refills so you can try one stirred and one not.
I was hungry so I ordered the Big Steak Omelet. It had steak, hash browns, tomatoes, green peppers inside and served with salsa. It was also served with a side of pancakes which I couldn't finish. The omelet itself was enough for me. I was full after our brunch. I'm not even sure if I'll need to eat dinner.
Other dishes that I've tried and enjoyed is the Garden Fresh Crepe, Eggs Benedict, International Passport breakfast. The service may be slow especially on the weekends, but the food is reasonable and the price is right.
