Burnaby Restaurant: Horizons

On top of Burnaby Mountain stands a restaurant with a view of the downtown lights and night sky.  It is an amazing view and horizons!  I imagine that's where the name came from.  The atmosphere is elegant and a fine dining experience.  The menu hosts a variety of options including fresh seafood.  The two dishes pictured here are the Lois Lake Steelhead with Oysters and the Pacific Cioppioni Bowl.  I had the Lois Lake Steelhead and it was quite tasty and delicious.  The potatoes were creamed smoothly and the fish and oysters were grilled to perfection.  The waiter will ask if you wish to add side dishes to your meal.  As a group, we tried a side dish of mushrooms and spinach.  I will try to replicate it at home.  I never knew how flavourful a simple side dish of assorted mushrooms could be.  I was pleasantly pleased with the dining experience and would recommend Horizons for any special occasion.  If you plan to go on Burnaby Mountain in the winter, be prepared for snow and bring a vehicle that can handle ice and snowy conditions on the road.
