Now is the season for the Cherry Blossom Festival, but don't worry, there's still a lot of events for you to enjoy. Here are 5 ways you can celebrate the Cherry Blossom Festival in Vancouver.
1. Write a Cherry Blossom Haiku - Find your creative juices and write about the cherry blossoms through poetry. There is no entry fee and you can submit up to two haikus here. Deadline is May 31st, 2011.
2. Listen to Cherry Jubilee Violin Power - Come and see the talented youths perform in chamber music fashion at CBC Studios on Saturday, April 9th from 5 - 6:45pm. Tickets are $10 available at the door at 4pm.
3. Bike the Blossoms - Tune up your bike for a bike ride and picnic lunch on Saturday, April 16th from 11am - 5pm. Meet under the cherry blossom trees at Devonian Park (Denman and Georgia St). They have the routes in case you can't make it but want to do a Spring bike ride another day.
4. Walk the parks and listen to the Cherry Tree Talks - Walk through the parks with a Cherry Scout who will lead you to see great cherry blossom trees. There are still upcoming Tree Talks and Walks on Wed. April 6th, Sat. April 9th, and Sun. April 10th.
5. Photograph the Blossoms - There are over 600 locations in Vancouver where you can find a variety of cherry blossom trees. Choose a place, bring your camera, and have fun doing your own cherry blossom photo shoot.
