Things to Do in Vancouver: Vancouver Art Gallery

On the anniversary of the Olympic Games, the Vancouver Art Gallery had free admission (on Tuesday nights they are open til 9pm and offer by donation entrance fees - call ahead to confirm).  That was also the opening day of the new exhibition.  Even though it was busy day, I had a fun time looking at the new exhibitions which are interactive and interesting.

We:  Vancouver 12 Manifestos for the City was on the first floor.

Here is a building installation showing the use of recycled plastic bottles around wire for a light installation.
Here we have a wall of the architectural style of the  "Vancouver Special" houses built in Vancouver from the 60s to 80s.  When the houses are together you can see that even though the structure is the same, they are each unique and have their individual differences.  An interesting collage.

I love the wall collages and here we have another one of Natalie Purschwitz's Makeshift Project where she sewed or made everything that she wore for a year.
