On Thurlow and Alberni lives this little pastry shop and cafe,
Thierry Cafe, hidden amongst the boutiques and restaurants. My friend and I decided to stop in for lunch after our
Vancouver Urban Hike. I've had their macaroons before last summer, but this was my first time to try their soup and baguette sandwich combination. It was an amazingly flavourful mushroom soup with a fresh salami baguette sandwich. Of course when you go to Thierry Cafe, you cannot resist buying one of their specialty macaroons for dessert. The pink macaroon is actually a lychee macaroon with an actual piece of fresh lychee in the middle.
It was great to take a break at Thierry Cafe and enjoy the fabulous food in a cozy atmosphere. I'm always tempted to stop in just to see what new macaroon flavours they have for that day. It was a reasonable place to have a healthy lunch. Check out the
