Joey's Bentall One Restaurant is located close to the Burrard Skytrain Station. It's much larger than it appears on the outside. It's spacious for large groups and parties, but you'd want to make your reservations early as it's a busy place. At first when I walked in I felt a bit out of place because at the bar there were men in suits and ties and women in high fashion evening gowns. We were seated in the heated patio area which was lively but more casual which I preferred. It's good to see a restaurant busy with people which must say something about their food.
I decided to order the Mushroom Cheddar Burger with yam fries and I was surprised to see the large portion size. I saw the servings of the appetizers such as the Lettuce Wraps and can easily see myself ordering that as my meal. The burger was stuffed full of mushrooms, juicy meat, lettuce, tomato, pickle. They even provide a steak knife so you can cut it in half to eat more easily.
My friend ordered the Lobster Grilled Cheese Sandwich which is quite rich and I would definitely want to complement it with the caesar salad as she did. Another nice choice!
Now I come to the main reason why this restaurant was recommended to me. It wasn't for the single men, or bustling atmosphere. It was for the dessert! One in particular. That was the Molten Lava Chocolate Souffle (also known as the Lava cake). Save room for sharing this special dessert with your friend. One spoonful and you will fall in love with the blend of chocolate, vanilla ice cream, and raspberry. What a delightful combination!
