Vancouver Vaisakhi Parade took place this afternoon in Vancouver in Little India on Main Street and 49th Avenue. It is a religious festival that celebrates the ancient harvest festival. It is a community celebration with stages for dancing and performances, parade with floats and prayers, and celebration of abundance through providing free food and drink for all. The food was fabulous and the crowds were strong. The streets were lined with people. Here's a tasting of what types of food I tried. It was definitely an inclusive environment and strong sense of community and celebration for everyone who attending (Sikhs and non-Sikhs alike). If you missed it, you can still attend the
